Dear Ones,
Joy is such a beautiful guide but not many of us have been brought up to really trust its voice. Often seen as frivolous and not important, many of us received messages of not following it and instead of walking a path of struggle and hardship, under a vague promise of being rewarded with a little bit of joy at some point later. These early messages were often unspoken because as children we mainly learnt by observing the adults around us. And so hidden in our unconscious mind they often still steer our steps without us actually noticing it.
And so perhaps we followed – at least in our early years – paths of “shoulds and shouldn’ts” believing that we are meant to push against our inner resistance and “work harder”, only to find ourselves feeling tired, exhausted and discouraged.
I feel the Universe truly rejoices when we remember the path of joy. The path of joy is the path of nature. It is the path of following light, genuine interest, passion and our deepest heart. When we discover it or better said remember it, we might be surprised that it is not the frivolous path we’ve been told it is. We learn that our genuine heart might be many things but it is not frivolous. It is connected to our truth, to our authentic self and reminds us every time we step away from our true path.
It simplifies our life by stripping away both the unnecessary and distracting. If who we are and what we do doesn’t make the heart stronger it makes it weaker. It dilutes our joy of life and takes away our vitality and natural knowingness of our true north. And so when we truly love ourselves we pay attention to our heart and learn to speak its language of joy.
When we do so, we are rewarded with our life force becoming stronger and our path clearer. We know who we are and who we are becoming. We treasure not only every destination we reach but we also treasure the path as every step on the path of joy brings soul satisfaction and is rewarding by itself.
One step at a time, we are choosing the direction of our life and discerning the paths which take us away from our truth. We start being more and more receptive to the subtle ripples of joy within us and learn to say yes to them. Joy then becomes the place we choose again and again until it feels like joy is choosing us. Until the little streams of joy become the strong force of a river boldly carving its own way back to the ocean, back to Source, back to our true home.
