Gratitude

“At times, our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.”  Albert Schweitzer

Dear Ones,

I love gratitude and appreciation as it can shift our perspective so quickly and so easily. Energy flows where attention goes, so our perspective is the most creative tool we all have. A positive attitude can transform any situation for the better. Awareness is a key here as we are often not aware that we focus negatively.  Also the most dominant thoughts, feelings and beliefs will over years or even decades feel “normal” to us, even though some of them are negative and are not serving us. As always self-love is the best way forward. Having awareness and seeing ourselves clearly with all our patterns doesn’t mean that we have to judge ourselves. Being gentle and loving towards ourselves is always far more transformative and effective than being self-critical. Self-criticism or all criticism is in fact one of those very common patterns to release…

Our feelings will always reveal our perspective most truthfully. A genuine appreciation and gratitude always feels good and criticism whether towards ourselves or others will never feel good. Thoughts of gratitude and appreciation nourish us on all levels and create a sense of well-being and harmony within and then reflect into the world around us, bringing us people, experiences and circumstances for which we’ll again feel appreciation for. I think we all experienced it in our lives, didn’t we? Have you ever changed anyone – including yourself – through criticism? And if someone in your life consistently focuses on the positive within you and appreciates you, what does it naturally bring out in you? And everything and everyone in our life is just like that. What we choose to see, we affirm and attract more of.

I find resting in appreciation and gratitude every day even if it’s just for ten minutes a true gift for myself. It smoothes any edges within me, it deepens my breath and relaxes my body. It reminds me of the blessings in my life, renews my perspective and reconnects me to what’s really important to me, as naturally what comes to my mind first to appreciate is what I treasure the most…But don’t just take my word for it! If you feel inspired, dedicate ten minutes a day to gratitude and appreciation of blessings in your life and see what happens.
I look forward to meditating with you.

 Lots of love,
