Dear Ones,
It is so good to remind each other who we truly are, which is really the main intention of all my offerings. It’s easy to be caught in the narratives of our minds or the mainstream narrative of the current society we live in. And when we are caught in these narratives based on ideas of lack, limitation and separation, we might feel like a fish caught in a net. It can feel restrictive, unpleasant and suffocating.
But once we see clearly that it is our own doing, we reach a powerful point in our human journey. For most of us, this takes an insight, a veil lifting, even if only for a brief moment. It is not by chance that it is called awakening; it really feels like that. One moment we are totally identified with preconceived beliefs, thoughts and also feelings, totally identified with the role we each play in this waking dream, and the next we see everything from a fresh new perspective — woken up from the dream and seeing everything clearly, as if for the first time. This time, stripped of the restrictive narrative we subscribed to a very long time ago.
Seeing that we are both the dreamer and the dream can be incredibly liberating. We start having glimpses of the innate freedom which never truly left us. We realise we simply stopped paying attention to it and, in time, forgot completely that it was there in the first place. We started to adopt one limiting idea after another and, with each new limitation, drew a smaller and smaller circle around ourselves until we felt smallish, disconnected, without any real power and without freedom.
It can actually be quite humorous seeing what we’ve done to ourselves! The unlimited, eternal and infinite being that we all are, trying to squeeze into a tiny little circle. And so, with awakening often comes a wonderful lightness, laughter and humour. It’s like when we are waking from a dream and there is something humorous happening, and so we wake up smiling or laughing.
We can see clearly the divine play we decided to play, the game of limitation and eventually awakening from it. We can see clearly that all limitations are actually arising in our innate freedom. We, infinite freedom, can say yes to a limitation, but equally, we are free to decline it and stop supplying it with our energy, by believing in it, by identifying with it.
And so, again with delight, we might discover that we don’t have to work on being free. We only need to remember it and allow it. Isn’t that so much easier than so many complex narratives we’ve believed all our lives? Isn’t this humorous? Isn’t this funny?
I look forward to meditating with you.
Lots of love,
Jana
