“For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.” – Nelson Mandela
Dear Ones,
I feel that although undoubtedly 2020 was a year which brought many challenges, it was also a year which initiated many inner and outer changes within us all. In some ways this was a year of a global retreat. And retreat time can be truly meaningful and productive. Many of us who already meditate regularly and seek spiritual growth already know it. We know that if we want to stay happy, we have to first look within to see the inner truth and the new directions the soul wants to take. Now that this was happening globally, I expect next year and the following years to be years of many new beginnings. I see new inventions which will help us to live in a more sustainable and ethical way…I see people feeling more self-empowered and looking less for validation or a leader outside of them…I see people understand more what their life is really about and living in alignment with their truth…And most of all I see liberation in all forms. Inner and outer, individual and collective.
Perhaps many of us faced our fears this year and perhaps this time we could really understand that as long as we let our fears dictate our choices, our lives will never change for the better. As fear is a loud voice of the small ego, always trying to predict the future, always trying to control the outcomes, and in doing so never really resting in the fullness, grace and joy of the present moment. And it is only in the present moment where we enter the field of infinite possibilities and truly reconnect to the freedom within.
Your innate freedom is there right now, in this moment, deep within your heart. No one and no external circumstance can take it away from you. Yes, you might give it away if you never really believe that you can be truly free. You might let your low self-worth tell you that you are not good enough to have a life of freedom. Or you might believe that you need to sacrifice your freedom for someone or something external. But nevertheless it is always your choice, whether conscious or unconscious…
For me there are two words which can describe the soul in the best ways – love and freedom. In many ways they are intertwined and sides of the same coin. As true love allows freedom, and true freedom is not reckless, but grounded in love and care. And so if we want to be happy we have to cultivate both of these qualities. And this starts simply with acknowledging that they are already within. This acknowledgement, this gaze inwards will naturally activate them. And if you stay steadfast and loyal to them, you’ll see them manifested in many ways in your life…
And so are you ready to claim your freedom, dearest One?
I look forward to meditating with you!
Lots of love,
Jana
