Creativity

In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance inside my chest where no one sees you, but sometimes I do and that sight becomes this art.” Rumi

Dear Ones,
my very favourite part of creativity is when the moment of inspiration arrives. To me it feels nearly physical, nearly tangible. Like something in the air I can touch with my bare hands. This becoming is intoxicating. You know you are going to give birth to something or maybe even better something is going to be born through you. It can come in a moment you don’t expect it or even when you are supposed to do something else. This can be quite humorous at times. Like when I once sat to my computer to finally do my tax return, but suddenly there was something else to do. It was like a swarm of bees, like words in the air flying around my head and begging to be captured into sentences. There was no chance of saying no. Well, there is always an option of saying no, but in my love of life I’ve learnt how sweet it is to say yes and let life move through me when the time is ripe. It was a poem which wanted to be born that day. The most delightful, enchanting, passionate. And as much as I enjoyed reading it when the last word completed the magic circle, nothing (nearly nothing 🙂 trumps that feeling of creating. Not all creative moments are as glorious as this one, but they always feel like one of the reasons I am here…We all are creative and creating. All the time. Once you understand that feeling good means that you are connected to who you truly are and make it your priority, your creating and creations will make your heart sing. And it doesn’t have to be about making art or writing a poem. It can be anything. Cooking, gardening, painting your fence. But whatever you do, whatever you create from that innate place of joy it becomes a devotional offering to life itself. You infuse joy into it. You bless it with your loving heart. Without even trying to, you make the world a better and more beautiful place. And in the process you become a more authentic you. A creator forever creating. A creator forever becoming. A creator…
I am looking forward to meditating with you soon.
Lots of love,
