The Light of Your Authentic Self

“It is safe to be exactly as I am.” Sage

Dear Ones,

It is still a rare thing at this point of human evolution for a human being to be fully accepted as they are and to be loved unconditionally. Although things are definitely getting better, and every new generation is—generally speaking—accepted more and more fully by their primary caretakers, not many of us received complete unconditional love. This often happens on a very unconscious level, where the child comes to an unspoken conclusion: “It is not safe to be me as I am,”believing that they need to be “a little bit more of this and a little bit less of that” to be fully accepted. This measure of “perfection” might be deduced from the first responses we received from parents and teachers, many of which were quite contradictory.

As we begin awakening, we can see this pattern of not allowing ourselves to be fully who we are and start letting go of it. We finally realise that, to be loved unconditionally, we do not have to be perfect. In fact, we begin to see clearly that we are perfect in all our imperfections. The more we start seeing our true beauty—the light of awareness that we all are—the more we begin to see our humanity with compassion, or even a sense of humour. And this seeing is like a healing balm for our sense of identity.

We come to know that we do not have to hide, perfect, change, or improve our humanity—we only need to allow it and fully embrace it. And this loving embrace allows the light of our true identity, our true nature, to shine through fully. This is where our human vulnerability, insecurity, and wounded places become like jewels in the crown of who we truly are: the beauty of our authenticity, which needs no explanation, justification, or apology. We know, without doubt, that we are eternal, infinite beings of light and love having a human experience, and our humanity is no longer a problem to be solved, but a beauty and richness to be celebrated.

Our authenticity is the path to full self-realisation. We no longer want to skip any uncomfortable steps of healing. There is no longer an artificial division between the spiritual and the worldly—all is One. We are in awe of the divine play manifesting as you and me. We begin to see both the magic and the lightness of it. We see our life as a dream of the divine being that we truly are. In the same way that, when we wake from a night dream, we do not feel the need to perfect the character we played, we begin to lose the need to perfect our own character in this tangible waking dream called life.

This is far from resignation or giving up. It is more a realisation that the perfect being we long to become has never left us—it has always been there, in the background, witnessing all the ups and downs of our human drama. We realise we only need to take one step back, naturally merge with it, and allow it to take the lead. This is where life becomes sweetest. What was once perceived as our shortcomings is now seen as humorous quirks and endearing idiosyncrasies. Life loses its gravity, and the lightness of our true being comes more into the foreground. At last, we allow our authentic self to shine through—we allow ourselves to shine like the brightest star in the sky.

Are you ready, dearest One?

I look forward to meditating with you.

Lots of love,
Jana
