Letting Go

Dear Ones,

I’ve always felt deeply connected to nature. Being in nature is one of the simplest and most joyful ways for me to feel better, uplifted and aligned with who I truly am. It’s such a beautiful alchemy which happens so effortlessly as my energy merges with trees, grass or birds flying by…We often think of ourselves as being in nature but the truth is we ARE nature. And so I feel connected to the natural cycles of our earthly months and seasons and seeing trees letting go of their leaves now makes me think of what I am ready to let go of…

Letting go can sometimes have negative connotations for us but if you, like me, can see the profound wisdom of nature, you’ll understand that letting go is an intrinsic phase in the cycle of life. And although there is an aspect within us which is never changing, here on Earth we at the same time go through constant cycles of death and rebirth: Before we are ready to invite something new into our lives we first have to let go of the old.

Letting go can happen on so many levels as we are multifaceted beings but at the core of any visible external letting go is the internal one: Letting go of old beliefs, thoughts and feelings, ways of being and doing. Letting go of an outdated idea of ourselves so that the new higher expression of who we are can emerge. The greater the external change the greater the internal change, and so sometimes we are like phoenix rising from ashes, gloriously shifting to much greater new reality and leaving behind the old and outdated.

The more we can embrace this internal and external shedding, the more graceful this phase will be for us. Sometimes we can resist this, seeing letting go as something “less than”, getting caught in negative thinking and thinking that something went terribly wrong. Letting go doesn’t always look pretty and if we can embrace that too, we’ll soon be able to see the whole new picture. The darkest hour is just before dawn.

We recognise that letting go is just a phase before something new and fresh enters our lives. As much as we can sometimes resist stepping into the unknown, it is in the unknown where all the joy of living resides. The same way the trees will emerge in the new green glory in perfect divine timing we too will emerge totally renewed and ready for the next chapter. So if you feel inspired, dearest One, let go now of that which doesn’t serve you any longer and see letting go as your friend. No need to hold tight onto anything. What truly belongs to you is and always will be yours.

I look forward to meditating with you.
Lots of love,
Jana xx
